5 Proven Strategies for NPI
|
New product introduction (NPI) presents a wide set of challenges for engineers and manufacturers. More specifically, NPIs for embedded computing and critical communications products introduce known challenges related to time, costs, and risks – compounded by disruptions to the global supply chain. There are several key strategies to mitigate these challenged and expedite NPIs:
• Leveraging scalable, flexible technology • Refining and improving performance with cutting-edge design techniques • Engineering thermal solutions • Capitalizing on IP and integration before, during, and after product developments • Employing parallelism and controlling known supply chain variables

Saving Thousands with RFID
|
A Sealevel partner has a patented method to install RFID tags onto every piece of equipment in a surgical kit. Studies estimate 10-20% of a hospital’s inventory is misplaced annually, costing anywhere from $400,0000 to $1,500,000 per hospital. This medical equipment monitoring solution provides detailed reporting as well as extensive automation and alerts.

What is IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface)?
IPMI is a common solution for out-of-band device management. Out-of-band management refers to solutions that allow administrators to manage and monitor a hardware device through a subsystem that is independent of the main system processors, BIOS, and operating system.
The major benefit of IPMI is that the functionality can be executed remotely, and completely independent of the CPU, BIOS, and operating system of the hardware. Until recently, IPMI was utilized primarily in server hardware. However, the COM-HPC standard, introduced in 2021, incorporated IPMI into embedded devices.
